95th Bomb Group (H) Foundation
2008 Grants Program - Details
The mission of the 95th Bomb Group Memorials Foundation is to educate the public regarding the history of the 95th Bomb Group and its role in the air campaign over central Europe during World War II, to promote the study and recognition of the total involvement of the air crews and their related support units, and to provide and maintain appropriate recognition of all members of the 95th Bomb Group who gave up their lives in the successful effort to preserve freedom as their legacy to future generations.
Grants averaging $300 will be awarded to teachers, historians, librarians, and qualified individuals promoting the memorializing of those who died in World War II.
1. Projects must be innovative and creative, enhancing the ongoing work of the Foundation and the Association.
2. Intergenerational and community involvement educational or memorializing projects are encouraged
3. Grants may be used to purchase equipment or to copy historical records, if these are components of an integrated program.
4. Grants cannot be used to compensate individuals.
5. Grants which demonstrate matching funding will receive priority in any grant cycle.
The proposal should include the following information, in order as listed below:
1. Completed application form (see next page)
2. Detailed description of the project or activity, including a statement of need and explanation of why the project is creative or innovative in promoting the goals of the 95th Bomb Group Foundation.
3. Description of the number of people who will be served by the project.
4. Description of the goals and plans for the project, including specific objectives to be achieved, a schedule of events planned, and a timetable.
5. Project expectations, including a description of how success will be defined or measured.
6. Method of evaluation.
7. Project budget including source and amount of matching funds.
The 95th Bomb Group (H) Foundation will award grants in September 2008 and January 2009. Grant recipients will be required to submit a summary report at the end of a year.
Selection of the 95th Bomb Group (H) Foundation Grants Program recipients will be made by a special subcommittee of the Foundation Board.
All applications to be awarded in September 2008
must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. July 5th, 2008.
Applications for the second cycle - January 2009,
must be received no later than November 5, 2008.
Notes for the Foundation: the Foundation treasury will hold a minimum amount of money for the preservation of its memorials. Money for the grant program might be the donations and other monies in excess of this basic amount.
