Casualties and POWs Info

Monday, 27 August 2007 17:30 | Author: Rod Hupp | PDF Print E-mail
Personnel 95thBG - Personnel

The 95th BG suffered substantial loses of men and planes as the U.S. attempted to prove the worth of "daylight" bombing tactics.  With limited fighter support at the beginning of the war the B-17's were often times at the mercy of the German fighters once they crossed the English Channel.

The 95th BG had the following casualties and POW's:

Wounded in Action                       162

Killed in Action                              554

Killed in Service                              20

Prisoner's of War                          805

Interned in Neutral Country          64
